About Universal Hall (Animal Kingdom)

Universal hall is one of the best male hall in Koforidua. This hall was built with the aim to provide students of Koforidua Technical University with comfortable accommodation. Due to excellent performances in academics and other student related activities, universal hall was crowned the best hall/hostel for the year 2018/2019 and was recently voted as the best morale group of the year in the just ended Tertiary Excellence Awards, by far the most influential hall on campus. The populations of universal hall is 363.

            It is the vision of the hall to be the best in Koforidua Technical University not only in terms of academics but also in all curriculums of education.

            When it comes to success of programs, the hall has very good stories to tell. Due to the popularity of the hall, we are able to have more than double of our population attending our programs. We can boast of programs such as Kaba Night, Boxers night, Light Up The Street, Bom na sa, Joy dady Aponkye Jama, KTU Jama night and many other variety shows. We can boast when it comes to credibility in organizing successful events.


 About The Event

This is a seven daylong event which was initiated in 2017 where it was only celebrated by the universal hall. The second edition was held last two years and we can say without fear that it went on very successfully. This event exists to strengthen the cordial relationship we have with other hostels on campus and then also to create an arena to meet all alumni of the halls. This is the fourth edition and we are geared at making it three times better than the previous. This event is themed: The Youth in Nation Building (Educating the youth on various roles to play in contribution to nation building)

The hall week 2021 will be celebrated on 26TH JULY, 2021 – 1ST AUGUST, 2021 in conjunction with other hostels on campus. There are ten (10) of such hostels namely;


1. Central Hostel

2. Sir Joe Hostel

3. Unisex Hostel

4. Plantain Hostel

5. Adehyie Hostel

6. Madiba Hostel

7. Papobi Hostel

8. Peace Hostel

9. Elite Hostel

10. Orange Hostel  

and on average each of these hostels will bring on board about 100 students. This means the hall week celebration will be pulling a thousand students on average for a week.
